What Does Bumble Show Up As on a Bank Statement?

Bumble publishes no statement label. Through Apple it reads "
The banking app sends its usual alert, a small amount, nothing you'd normally open. Except the merchant name starts with Bumble. On your own card, or on the joint account, where that name wasn't supposed to be.
Before you decide what it means, one odd fact: that line might be a subscription, or it might be shampoo.
Short answer: Bumble publishes no official statement label. If the subscription was bought through Apple, the line reads "apple.com/bill" and does not mention Bumble. Through Google Play, it starts with "GOOGLE*" followed by a name. Paid directly by card, PayPal or Apple Pay, the wording is not documented anywhere official.
This page starts with the shampoo, then covers the three ways Bumble is paid, the labels found online, and what a charge proves. It covers statements you're entitled to read: your own, or a joint account.

Dating app or shampoo: rule this out first
"Bumble and bumble" is a hair care brand sold in salons and beauty stores. A charge with that name from a salon, a beauty retailer or a cosmetics site has nothing to do with dating. It sounds too silly to be the answer, which is why people skip it.
Say the line appeared once, on a Saturday, next to a store's name. That's a shopping trip. The same amount every month with no shop attached is a subscription.
Three ways to pay, three different lines
Bumble's own support confirms the three routes, and adds that it "can't accept screenshots of bank or card statements, as they don't show the exact item purchased". If Bumble can't tell from a statement what was bought, you can't either.
Through Apple, the line never names the app. Apple explains: "Apple.com/bill appears on your billing statement when you buy an app, music, movie, or other content from Apple. It also appears when a subscription renews". It adds that "Multiple purchases, including subscriptions, might be grouped onto one charge". An Apple line isn't evidence of Bumble, or against it.
Through Google Play, there's a name. Purchases appear as "GOOGLE*App developer name" or "GOOGLE*App name", so a Play Store line may name Bumble or its publisher.
The small charge just before the renewal
Then there's the line that sends people searching late at night: a small amount, just ahead of the usual charge. Bumble explains it for Google Play: "You might notice a small preauthorization charge before your renewal date". It's a check, not a purchase.
So two lines close together don't mean two subscriptions.

The exact labels blogs list
None of these is confirmed by Bumble.
Treat them as hints.
One-off purchases, and charges that outlive the account
Not everything is a subscription. "You can make one-time purchases on Bumble (like Bumble Boost), or start a subscription". A small single charge can be a one-time feature.
Deleting the account doesn't stop the billing. "If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, deleting your account won't automatically cancel your subscription". A recurring charge can outlive the profile: someone can say "I deleted it" truthfully and still be paying. We look at that answer in our guide to whether a spouse is still on dating apps.
The receipt goes elsewhere. "The receipt will be sent to the email address linked to that account", meaning the store account. If that account is yours, the receipt settles it. If it isn't, it's not yours to open.
What a Bumble charge tells you, and where it stops
A charge shows a payment. It does not show that a dating profile is in use today. The same caution applies to a Bumble verification code nobody requested, if that's the other thing you've seen.
A statement narrows the question, and a person has to answer it. The fourth row is the one nobody thinks of, and it has its own page: Bumble BFF on a partner's phone.
From a line on a statement to an actual profile
Whether a Bumble dating profile exists can be checked directly. CheatEye searches Tinder from a first name, an age, a gender and a location, with an optional photo, and its other-apps option adds Bumble alongside Hinge, Happn and OkCupid. When it finds a profile, the report shows what's on it, starting with the bio and the photos. For a Tinder profile it also gives the last activity and the last location used, and the person isn't notified. A search starts at $17.90 and the option is $12.90.
It has no access to bank data, doesn't search by email or phone number, and shows no messages or live location. To check on your own first, our guide to whether a husband is on dating sites goes through the methods one by one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Bumble show up on a bank statement? Yes, as a charge, but the wording depends on how it was paid. Through Apple, the word Bumble doesn't appear.
Does the statement say Bumble Premium? Not reliably. Bumble itself notes that statements "don't show the exact item purchased".
Is "apple.com/bill" a Bumble charge? It can be, and it can be any other Apple purchase. Search the amount in the Apple purchase history to know. If another dating app is the likelier answer, see how a Hinge subscription appears on a statement.
Why is there a small charge before the renewal? Bumble explains that Google Play may make "a small preauthorization charge" to check that funds are available.
Can Bumble keep charging after the account is deleted? Yes, if the subscription was bought through the App Store and not cancelled there. "He said he deleted it" has its own section in our guide to checking if a boyfriend is on dating apps.
